Backyard Dining Table and Chairs Update

A friend of mine wanted to refinish her backyard dining table and chairs.  Both the table and chairs needed to be sanded.  It was refinished: one coat of a mix of one part stain, and two part Clear Finish.

Adirondack Chair Facelit

I made this folding Adirondack chair in 2021, but never stained, or painted it. It’s made of Pine. So, I took it apart and sanded it down. I stained it with C2 Guard for Wood - Sugar Maple from Randall Paints.

Backyard Harvest Table Refresh

The Harvest dining table I built in 2014 was in need of some TLC.  After being stored for three years, it was time to uncover it from the tarp it was wrapped up in! The stain was in rough condition, and I didn't like the semi-transparent walnut-brown stain anymore, so I stripped it right down.  I then took it apart, piece by piece, sanded it, and stained it with C2 Guard for Wood - Sugar Honey from Randall Paints.

Bench Revamp

A dear friend of mine had an aging bench which needed some refinishing.  I took it apart and sanded it completely.  I finished it with C2 Guard for Wood - Tupelo Honey stain, from Randall Paints.  It took three coats.

Side Table - Magazine Rack - Book Shelf

For the longest time, my mom had this antique table at the front entrance of her home.  It was the ugliest table, all scratched up, water stains all over it, and in much need of repair.  Twenty years later, I decided to do something with it.

I stripped it down as much as I could, without causing any further damage. I need to find the hardware that will allow the table to open up.

Transformed Farmhouse Kitchen Table

My sister-in-law has an excellent eye for finding absolute gems. This one is no exception.  While she and my wife were out shopping, she found this pedestal table for my daughter’s new place.

Surprisingly, the table was in decent shape, but was due for a makeover. So I bought it. If I told you how much I paid for it, you wouldn’t believe me.

I took it apart and completely stripped down the tabletop, while the base only required some sanding.  I used a combination of olive oil and vinegar to remove all the scuffs and scratches.

The table has three coats of stain and two coats of satin topcoat.   It turned out awesome!  Thank you Janis!!

Cube Storage for Vinyl Collection

My good friends Linda and Pierre recently purchased a new sound system, including a turntable for their vinyl collection!  They asked me to make some storage cubes for their albums.  They chose Oak.

Pierre and I went to Lowe's and bought a 4x8x3/4" sheet of oak veneer.  I stained it black to match their speakers.  I also put a 3/4" Oak frame around the face of the cubes.  After 3 coats of stain and 2 coats of top coat, the cubes turned out awesome!
